CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
Dr. Firuza Aliyeva is a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She completed her Child and Adolescent Fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago where she served as Chief Fellow. She completed her general psychiatry residency at Chicago Medical School. Dr. Aliyeva has extensive experience in inpatient care and partial hospitalization treatment programs for children and adolescents. She served as Medical Director for the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and the Partial Hospitalization Program at Advocate Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Aliyeva is passionate about teaching and taught a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry lecture series to Medical Students and Psychiatry Residents at Advocate Children’s Hospital. She has been recognized by Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s Psychiatry Residency Program as Best Inpatient Attending of the Year. She also has been awarded Resident Teacher of the Year, Department of Psychiatry, Behavioral Sciences at Chicago Medical School. She utilizes her passion for teaching in her clinical work with patients and families at Plena. Dr. Aliyeva believes that education will help both the patients and their families feel empowered during treatment and throughout their lives.
Dr. Aliyeva is a graduate of King’s College Hospital, London where her interests were in neuropsychiatry and neurophysiology. She was earned a Master of Science degree in Epileptology from King’s College Hospital, London.
