At Plena Mind Center, we understand that every child is unique, and so is their path to healing. Integrated medication assessment and management are essential components of delivering the comprehensive, whole-person care your child deserves. While medication may not be necessary for every child, it can be a valuable part of treatment in certain cases to help manage symptoms effectively and support overall progress.
There are some cases where medication may be a part of your child’s optimal treatment plan. In order to complete individualized assessments and make thoughtful recommendations, a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist will be on site for the IOP once weekly.
This allows the psychiatrist to personally observe your child’s response to medication and enables the psychiatrist to make accurate recommendations regarding modifications in coordination with you, your child, and the clinical team.
What sets us apart is the integral role our board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists play in your child’s care. They are not just on-site—they are fully embedded in the program, actively collaborating with the clinical team and engaging in your child’s treatment throughout the program day. This allows for real-time monitoring of your child’s response to medication, as well as timely and thoughtful adjustments to their treatment plan.
Our psychiatrists work closely with you, your child, and our team of clinicians to ensure that every decision is made with care and consideration. By fostering a collaborative approach, we provide seamless integration of medication management into a broader, personalized treatment strategy. Whether exploring non-medication approaches or incorporating medication when appropriate, our goal is to support your child’s journey to wellness with the most effective and compassionate care.
Speak with one of our mental health specialists to determine which form of treatment program is ideal for your child or adolescent. They will take into account all of your symptoms and the history of therapy in your family, as well as set objectives and provide suggestions for the most appropriate next steps in your case.
