Zach is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience in the field and a passion for providing children and their families the experience of social/emotional growth and success. He earned his Master of Social Work degree from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago after earning his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology (with a Minor in Chemistry) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Zach’s experience with a number of different diagnoses/stressors (including Depression, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, PTSD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, difficult life events, and at-risk behaviors) and expertise in many different treatment modalities (such as CBT, DBT, social thinking, solution-focused therapy, family systems theory, etc.) allow him to utilize an integrated and targeted approach to fit the specific needs of your child. Additionally, his years of experience as a school social worker allow him to work with schools and families to help navigate the complex processes to secure necessary supports for each child when they return to school. Zach believes that while each child can show great progress during their time at Plena, the vast majority of their growth will take place outside of our walls. Zach will work tirelessly to make this a reality, utilizing the many people in each child’s life to promote lasting growth and set each child up for long-term success.
